Impact & Accomplishments


Andrew Montgomery, the Laird of Netherhall, born in Balmaghie, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, established one of the strongest Clydesdale bloodlines when he acquired Baron’s Pride, foaled in 1890. In 1919, it was said that ninety percent of all living registered animals in this breed carried his bloodline, and the progeny of Baron’s Pride took honors in show after show.


Montgomery visited America and Canada frequently and attended the International Live Stock Exposition in Chicago.
